Get Ready for Beach Season!

The Chicago Park District has announced plans for beach improvements in preparation for the 2025 season.

Scheduled Improvements

Infrastructure

• New accessible beach mats
• Upgraded bathroom facilities
• Enhanced changing areas
• Improved beach access paths

Safety

• Additional lifeguard stations
• Updated emergency equipment
• Better signage and communication systems

Amenities

• New volleyball courts
• Expanded seating areas
• Improved water fountains
• Additional bike racks

Timeline

Work is scheduled to begin in March 2025 and be completed before Memorial Day weekend.

Beach Season Dates

Official beach season: Memorial Day (May 26) through Labor Day (September 1)

• Lifeguards on duty daily from 11 AM to 7 PM
• Beach hours: Sunrise to 9 PM
