December Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended our December membership meeting. Here are the highlights:

Zoning and Development Updates

The committee reviewed several proposed developments in the area:

• 5800 N. Sheridan - Mixed-use development proposal
• Broadway corridor improvements - Update on ongoing streetscape project
• Lakefront protection - Discussion of erosion concerns

Community Safety

Alderman Johnson provided an update on:

• Increased police patrols in the area
• New street lighting installations
• Plans for enhanced crossing safety at key intersections

Parks and Recreation

• Beach improvements scheduled for spring 2025
• New playground equipment being installed at Berger Park
• Community garden expansion approved

Next Steps

1. Zoning committee to follow up on development proposals
2. Safety committee meeting scheduled for January 10th
